The First Day of School for Co-Parents
Your child’s first day of school is both exciting and nerve-wracking. Sending them off to the unknown can be daunting, and what comes with that is the increased emotions in communicating with your child’s other parent.
If it’s the first time your child’s walked through those school gates, it’s the first time you have had to work out the logistics of co-parenting a school aged child. Often, Court Orders will be worded to have time with the non-primary parent increase once your child has commenced school. Add these together and it is a lot of new at once.
On top of this, there is a need for conversations about paying for school uniforms and school supplies. Also, who will pay for extra-curricular activities? And what about any tutoring?
Altogether, it is a lot for any parent to handle.
If you are struggling to find all the answers, come and speak to one of our solicitors at Statewide Family Law. We can discuss with you about what these answers can look like, and how we can make them binding for the remainder of your child’s school life to eliminate this stress in the future.
